Our first visit to an Interior Designer

Pat says

We were referred by Key's friend to an ID from Le Interi Design Pte Ltd. We visited her place personally to check out on the design of her house and we were impressed with the unique ideas and the awesome island that was in the middle of the living/dining room. It was modern and quite western kind of style which we loved.

During our first meetup we talked about general ideas for our flat. We emphasis on minimalist style and we wanted a walk-in wardrobe (due to me having quite alot of clothes) and a full length mirror along a wall of our living room. The discussion was fruitful with ideas from both sides. 

Perhaps because it was a referral hence our expectations for him was quite high and we sort out his views on some uncertain issues as we trusted his views to a certain extent. Uncertain issues such as should we have different themes for different rooms (no because should be consistent) or should we have invisible grills (no, easy to fix later on when the need arises). 

After discussing and chit chatting for 4 hours, we finally kinda got a rough idea of how our new house will be! It was an amazing session because by looking at the floor plan itself, I wouldn't have thought of the ideas that he had suggested. Brain storming through the ideas were great too and we discussed thoroughly on anyone's inputs to any matter. 

I'm thankful to have found someone who has similar views as us (i.e. minimalist) and has western influences on his designs plus is very interested to try new stuffs that are non conventional. He took great pride in his works and wanted to be involved with all his client's decisions on loose items as he felt that it should coincide with the theme of the house. Furthermore, he mentioned that he emphasis much on service for his clients. After the first meetup, I felt this was a great start to an awesome partnership! =D

Key says

Though there is still about 6 more months to the expected completion and collection of our house, we have decided to look for ID to help with the house. Though our new house is DBSS, there are still some adjustments needed and so I guess it's better to seek out an ID instead of doing it ourselves. Having seen how my friend's odd-shape house was transformed and the island crossing between kitchen and living room, I believe the ID perhaps could meet my odd-requests.

During this initial meeting, it is more of knowing our criteria, preferences etc and for brain-storming of ideas. We have not officially engaged him yet but from the looks of it, most likely we will not be ID-shopping as Pat is pretty comfortable with this ID.
